Strong Kids Duathlon 18th Anniversary

Join us for the 17th Anniversary Celebration of the Strong Kids Duathlon!

Get ready for fun for the whole family at our 17th Anniversary of the Strong Kids Duathlon on Thursday, August 21st in Cobourg, ON.

The Strong Kids Duathlon is not just any race; it is an inspiring combination of running and swimming challenges that showcase the spirit of young athletes. This event promises to leave everyone smiling as young participants complete the course at Centennial Pool and around Victoria Park with hearts pounding and faces beaming. Friends and family can join in by cheering on these brave youngsters as they dash across the finish line.

What makes the Strong Kids Duathlon even more special is its commitment to supporting our community. This family-friendly, child duathlon will be channeling dollars raised more specifically into supporting our special Mothers of Newborns program. This important program provides mothers and their babies with an easy and safe path toward wellness while creating a network of support during babies’ first year.

YMCA Membership is not required to participate in the Strong Kids Duathlon – any child aged 3 to 15 can register and participate in this event.

For our 17th anniversary, the fee to participate is $17 per child (+processing fees) and we will be offering a special soft towel keepsake of the event for $17 (+tax).

The 18th Strong Kids Duathlon is happening this year at two locations and on two dates!

Based on the popularity and positive results of past events, we are excited to announce that we will be expanding our event and hosting two Strong Kids Duathlon events in 2026!

This program is not just a fun event for children and youth but also is an important fundraiser, supporting children’s programming at the Y. This includes the YMCA Camp programs and the Mothers of Newborns program for babies too.

For the 18th anniversary, the cost to participate is $18 per child. The distance for the swim and run are based on the participants age.

The Mothers of Newborns Program: This free, invaluable program gives local mothers and their newborn babies a safe, supportive path to health, wellness, and connection. It fosters a vital network of belonging and support during that critical first year, benefiting both moms and babes! We currently serve over 60% of all new moms in Northumberland through the program!
Essential Camp Initiatives: Your gift helps us expand our camp programming and infrastructure, ensuring local children can access a safe environment to build confidence, make friends, and truly thrive.
