Join us this Friday, June 21st for our Film Series on National Indigenous People’s Day at the Cobourg YMCA!

Let’s celebrate the rich history, heritage, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples in Canada with a special documentary Film Series!

Film Lineup:

  • Mishisagiig: Alderville First Nation (36min 55sec) : About Alderville First Nation, a thriving Anishinaabe First Nation community, rich in heritage and culture, situated on Rice Lake, in southern Ontario, approximately 30 kilometres north of Cobourg. 
  • 2019 HG Scugog and Alderville History (1hr 6min) : Fascinating presentation about the Scugog and Alderville History
  • Who are the Anishinabek? (2min 48sec) : A short film that explains who are the Anishinabek Indigenous People
  • Indigenous People of Canada | Facts for Kids (2min 34sec) : An easy to understand video for preschoolers, elementary school kids and all curious children and adults
